The Tanjur people, or Tugur, are a Sunni ethnic group found in Eastern Chad and Western Sudan. The ethnic roots of the Tangjur people are unknown. According to their oral traditions and some scholars, they are Arabs who migrated from the Arabian Peninsula to central Sudan either through North Africa and Tunisia or via Nubia.
