On Umar Akad al-Fīl and Muḥammad Ḥamad Abū Sinn who went to al-Daqā in Eritrea to enjoin the population of this region to join the Mahdiyya. ʿUthmān Diqna informs the Khalīfa that he has finally received news from them. They have arrived in al-Daqā and were accepted by their heads. They also met an Italian officer but refused to accompany him to Maṣūwaʿ.
