Aḥmad Maḥmūd ʿAlī informs them that he has been told the Hadanduwa have allied with the Turks (the British and Egyptian administration in Sawākin) to attack and destroy Mahdist power in Eastern Sudan while an expedition is being mounted against the Banī ʿĀmir. He recommends to postpone this expedition.
