- Description:
- Madanī ʿUthmān Qamad al-Dīn had a vision the day before and recounts it to Majdhūb Abū Bakr Yūsuf. "I saw you and around you a great crowd, standing on their feet, and you were distant from them, as they were making noise, afraid and scared. I asked you about them and their fear, and you said “This desire (hawiyya), [they have a right over us?] (wa naḥna li-nā ʿalay-him ḥuqūqān) and this is the promise. You order me to bring the Qurʿān and you tell me: “Open to this verse. You say it with a high voice to the people, and all of them are standing. This verse is “And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant” [Q 21:47]. Your order me to recite with my voice. I do as you order and you tell me “The weights of the scales are tiny particles (al-dharr)” and you tell me “Those are the people who bring with them dissent. Among them are people [?] (al-ʿarabiyya) and among them are people al-Ruṭāna”. And this is what I saw.
