Note by Wingate to General Grenfell, the Sirdar, on forwarding the index of ʿUthmān Diqna’s letter-book to Sir E. Baring (Lord Cromer) and Colonel Holled-Smith.
Wingate had sent the index of the correspondence seized at Tūkar to the Sirdar, General Grenfell (see NRO-M000999). In this second note, Wingate informs the Sirdar that two other copies were sent, one to Lord Cromer, the Consul-General of Egypt, and the other to the Colonel Holled-Smith in Sawākin who had led the advance against Tūkar.
