The History Of Gallabat
Gallabat is a border town located in the state of Gedaref in Sudan with an altitude of 725 meters (2381 feet) above sea level. It is about 511 kilometers (317.5 miles) away from Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and 157 kilometers (97.5 miles) from the city of Gedaref, the state's capital. Between them and the Ethiopian city of Matama, on the other side of the border, the Wadi Seasonal stream is Khor Abu Nakhrah, 144 kilometers (89.5 miles) away from the city of Gondar, the capital of the Ethiopian Amhara region. Thus, Qallabat is considered to be one of the most important crossing points between Sudan and Ethiopia.
